Desktop Clock + App Reviews
I was delighted to find this app. Here you have the option of having right on your Mac’s desktop the classic Swiss Mondaine clock design used in every train station throughout Switzerland. This classic clock face is the easiest to read has never been improved upon. You can choose varying degrees of size and opacity plus the option to have it visible on top of your open windows. It is elegant simplicity.
I somehow lost my old clock - think a Java upgrade killed it. not sure. Anyway, I like an analog clock with numbers on the face in the corner of my screen. I bought several and tried them. At first I was disappointed because there was no way to make the clock “click-thru” like my old clock. And then I discovered that when I move my mouse up there, it disappears, revealing the files and disks. Woohoo! No need to make it semi-transparent. Great selection of watch faces and second-hand movements. I’m a happy clock-watcher now. Even better than my old one. Also, I had a couple of questions about the app, and I received email responses from the developer very quickly. Excellent app, excellent support - nice combo.
I like this a lot, but every 2 days or so the clock will freeze up and the app becomes unresponsive. You need to force quit it and restart it to get it going again. This is very annoying. I would not recommend it for this reason.
Still a good clock
This is a good desktop clock with all the basics that you need, but the options are limited. It's been years since they added clock faces, and only a few of the ones they have are really good, but getting old if you've used the app for a while. They should really add new faces. They should put an icon on the mac menu bar with a dropdown menu to make it easier to change the opacity and selectability for drag and drop. If they were really serious, they would add options like a calendar and multiple time zones. I'd be willing to pay an upgrade fee for that. Or, I'll just wait until someone else does it.
Goodk Reliable Clock
Just what I needed for my Mac-Mini desktop.
Interferes with dock
Im on Monterey and running this app breaks Finder. Dock and menu bars for any program stopped working correctly. Might be related to having an additional display.
almost perfect but there is a bug
Love everything about this dock. There's a clock face that looks so beautiful and simplistic to me and the functionality suits my needs perfectly. My only complaint is that there is a bug that needs fixed: if I turn on the hide app icon option, then I also can't open any app on my computer from the dock. The top menu bar also doesn't work (can't click on it) when I'm looking at my desktop. The top menu bar works once I'm in the full screen mode of any app, safari etc. This problem goes away if I turn off the hide app icon option.
Good solid analog clock
This is just what I wanted. I have the kind of brain that processes time better when I see it in a circle rather than digitally. Strangely enough, there are very few options in the app store for an analog clock. But this one is great.
exactly what I wanted.
I looked through many of the desktop clocks and this actually was exactly what I was looking for. thanks very much.
Exactly What I Was Looking For
I was just looking for a simple analog clock. That would would always be visible on my desktop. Nohing fancy. This clock exactly fits he bill.
very noce desktop clock
i like its versatility: it disappears when you hover over it so whatever is oin the desktop can be accessed, it has adjustable size and faces. I dont kno why it is labelled for weather, I want the TIME only and that is what I get.
Buggy Annoying
I run 3 monitors, this app takes over the top finder menu in weird ways so that nothing is selectable. I hate that I paid for it, but will be deleting it and searching for another one. If it didn't bug out the system, I would like it. But it's unnacceptable.
Love this little app!
My eyes needed a bigger clock than the little one up top on my 27" imac. This one works fine and I think it looks great. Resizes easily, very visual and yea it's got it's quarks, but I like it. It seems to have seiziures when you wake up your mac, but gets accurate quick enough.

I like
Does what it says. Another reviewer pointed out how you have to open the Control Center for everything, but it's great otherwise.
Excellent motifs!
Waiting to have the "Nosferatu" clock style.
Pretty Worthless
I have it set to "always on top". Most of the time. it is not on top. Right now, it is behind the desktop icons. I have it set to autostart. It does not. Also, it is not uncommon for it to display two clocks.
Just what I wanted.
Works great. Simple and flexible. Had it long time—years—and never a problem.
Great idea, has some kinks
It's nice to have a clock, but I'm finding that it has been breaking more frequently. It shows up ghosted and a second clock also shows up solid. Needs some fixes
Wonderful App
I am SO happy with this little clock app. I found the style I wanted among the generous selections, easily moved it to the bottom right corner of my MacBook Pro, and it just sits there, doing its job, like a champ. Highly recommend.
Desktop clock - right!
I like a clock on my desktop. Check. I like an analog clock. Check. I like a simple analog clock with a second hand. Check. I like a clock that stays on top. Check. Does what it sets out to do. A nice selection of clock faces. Straightforward configuration choices - clock size, second hand, opacity, position, on-top, click-through. Been using it for 5-6 years. Not sure what I would do without it.
Great!
Easy to use - works well.
I’m a clock fanatic, and this just adds to my ‘collection’ with a PLUS side, its pretty cool...
I like that this clock can be made to place anywhere on the desktop. You can also set the transparency, and the different clock faces. I have mine set to be ‘on top’ of all my windows. But don’t let you think that it will interfere with your viewing or working on your applications, (the clock disappears when you move your cursor into the general area of your clock when you are working on something. Then when you move the cursor somewhere else, the clock reappears.) I’m generally pretty happy with this clock, and it is satisfying all my desires with the clock. If I had to ask for oneor two things to improve on, I wish there was a separate clock that I could initiate where it would give me a count down, or timer if you wish, so it would make me get up and move, or walk around so I’m not sitting all the time. OR maybe even an alarm clock function. I know, I know, this is a clock application, but it would be nice to be able to do the timer and the alarm clock without having to grab my phone and have the phone sitting next to me, doing the alarm or timer thing. For those who say they can’t position the clock where you want it… You MUST open the app, and click on the Click and drag button to allow you to then drag the clock where you want it on your desktop and then exit out of the application and it will be saved automatically in the place you dragged your clock. The same with the transparency, open the clock app, and change the transparency level, then close the application. To change the face of the clock, open the app, click directly on the face of the clock, and a pop up of the different clock faces that you can choose will show. Click on the one you want, then close the application.
Good but not great
This clock works fine, in the overall; but, it has its problems. You cannot move the clock on the desktop by dragging, without first opening the control panel and clicking on the move the clock bar. Also, when you resize the clock, it jumps to the pre-set location and you have to open the control panel, click the move bar, and then drag it once more. It’s way too many steps. Also, the clock selections are, to be honest, generally pretty unattractive.
Great clock to have on your desktop!
There is no clock in my office, so this Desktop Clock really helps to keep me on schedule and on task. Sure, I could look up at the top left corner of the screen to find the time, but I find it is really helpful to have a nice, big clock on your desktop!
Need to fix the clock disapperaing on the dock
I use the clock a lot. I like this program. The anoying thing about it is tht the clock intermittently disapears from the dock and then if you change the clock face it appears again for a while and then for some unknown reason it disappear again after a period of being on the dock. This behaviour started since Jan 28th release and had not been fixed. Other than that the program is fine
Excellent aesthetic and software craftsmanship - flawless!
I have many software clocks and this one is my favorite for onscreen 24/7. It has worked flawlessly from first El Capitan to current macOS Sierra 10.12.2. With so many options it never gets boring like so many others. Two thumbs up.
Very nice
Love the way that it disappears when the cursor passes near it. Just wish there were Digital styles along with the Analog. Sometimes they just fit in better.
App would be great if it didn't crash
I like this a lot, but every 2 days or so the clock will freeze up and the app becomes unresponsive. You need to force quit it and restart it to get it going again. This is very annoying. I would not recommend it for this reason.
